Our organic prickly pear seed oil is a virgin, cold-pressed, 100% pure oil extracted from the tiny seeds of the prickly pear cactus (Opuntia ficus-indica). It takes about one tonne of fruit to make a single litre of oil: it is one of the rarest and most precious plant oils in skincare.

- In the evening, on clean skinAfter removing your make-up, on slightly damp skin: the oil spreads better and absorbs faster.
- 2 to 3 dropsWarm them in the palm of your hand and press onto the face, neck and décolleté. Its dry texture leaves no greasy film.

Where can I buy a quality organic prickly pear seed oil?
Check that it is certified organic (ours is COSMOS Organic certified by Ecocert), virgin, cold-pressed and 100% pure, in a glass bottle. Our organic prickly pear seed oil comes from Tunisia, is packaged in France and is available in 5, 15, 30, 50 and 100 ml, so you can try it before choosing a larger size. -10% from 2 oils, -15% from 3.
Why is prickly pear seed oil so expensive?
Because it takes about one tonne of fruit to make a single litre of oil: the seeds are tiny and cold-pressed without solvents. It is also highly concentrated: 2 to 3 drops are enough for the face and neck.
Should I use it in the morning or the evening?
Preferably in the evening, during the night's rest: 2 to 3 drops on the face and neck. In the morning, a single drop mixed into your day cream is enough.
Is it suitable for oily or combination skin?
Yes: its texture is fine and dry, it absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy film. For oily skin, 1 to 2 drops in the evening are enough.
Can I apply it around the eyes?
Yes. Place one drop on the tip of your ring finger and pat gently from the inner corner of the eye outwards, without rubbing.
Can I mix it with my cream or a serum?
Yes, add one drop to your cream in the palm of your hand: you keep your routine and enjoy the benefits of the oil.
Prickly pear seed oil or macerate: what is the difference?
A macerate is made by soaking flowers or fruit in another oil, often sunflower: it is less concentrated and much cheaper. Our oil is 100% prickly pear seed oil, cold-pressed, with no other oil added. Check the INCI: it should only say “Opuntia Ficus-Indica Seed Oil”.
Can I use it on hair and nails?
Yes: a few drops on the ends to nourish them, or massaged around the nails and cuticles in the evening.
Can I use it during pregnancy?
It is a pure plant oil with no essential oil. If in doubt, ask your doctor or midwife.
How long does a bottle last?
For the face, about 30 to 45 days for 15 ml and 60 to 90 days for 30 ml (see the table in “Product details”).
How should I store it?
Keep the bottle tightly closed, away from light and heat. Use it within 12 months of opening.
How is it different from argan oil?
Argan is more nourishing and suits very dry skin and hair; prickly pear is finer and targets radiance in mature skin.
Why this price?
The yield is very low (about 1 litre of oil per tonne of fruit) and the oil is cold-extracted, without solvent.
Which size should I choose: 5, 15, 30, 50 or 100 ml?
The 5 ml is ideal to try the oil or take it travelling. The 15 ml and 30 ml suit a daily face routine. The 50 and 100 ml cost less per millilitre and also let you care for your neck, décolleté and hands. Bonus: the discount applies from 2 bottles, even when mixing different oils.
